STRESZCZENIE
Wraz z wprowadzeniem na rynek światowy nowych technologii, materiałów oraz leków pojawiają się problemy z reakcją organizmu na substancje biologicznie czynne powodujące alergię. Alergia to inaczej uczulenie organizmu na kontakt z alergenem lub z obcą substancją wywołującą patologiczną reakcję immunologiczną żywego organizmu. Artykuł dotyczy problematyki związanej z negatywnym wpływem materiałów stosowanych w stomatologii na nasze zdrowie. W pracy omówiono tylko niektóre problemy związane ze stosowaniem materiałów stomatologicznych takich jak: materiały kompozytowe, akrylowe czy stopy metali.

SUMMARY
With the introduction of new technologies materials and medicines to the world market, there have appeared numerous problems with the body's reaction to biologically active substances causing allergies. Allergy is hypersensitivity caused by exposure to a particular antigen (allergen) resulting in a marked increase in reactivity to that antigen on subsequent exposure, sometimes resulting in harmful immunologic consequences for a living organism. The article concerns issues related to the negative impact of the materials used in dentistry on our health. The paper discusses some of the problems associated with the use of dental materials such as composite materials, acrylic or metal alloys.
